I started working with Véronique at a time – we don’t tend to seek guidance when we believe we are doing great, which now I understand is a mistake – when I was feeling at my lowest professionally and emotionally. I had been offered coaching sessions before, twice, by previous managers telling me I needed to “change” in order to “fit.” Therefore, when I met Véronique, the first thing I told her was I was not sure I needed coaching because I didn’t want to change, I didn’t want to stop being who I was and by all means I didn’t want to fit, I didn’t want to be “one more.” I ended hiring her and it was such an amazing journey working with her. Individual coaching is a developmental method which can act as a growth accelerator. It is obviously up to the coachee to drive the change with intent, yet the quality of the relationship that the coach establishes with the coachee is of paramount importance to ignite the spark.
